Overview

The Livorno Lighthouse stands tall as a beacon of guidance and history in the bustling port city of Benghazi, Libya. Also known as the Benghazi Lighthouse, it was constructed to enhance maritime safety for the numerous vessels navigating the Mediterranean Sea, serving as a vital navigational aid for sailors.
Construction of the Livorno Lighthouse began in the early 20th century, spearheaded by Italian engineers during Libya's period of Italian colonization. This endeavor was part of a broader initiative to strengthen Benghazi’s status as a critical port city in the region.
