Overview

Bauska Castle is a captivating historical site nestled in Rundāle Municipality, Latvia. This remarkable castle complex features the ruins of the earlier fortification known as Bauska Old Castle, alongside the well-preserved New Castle. The Old Castle, built by the Livonian Order between 1443 and 1456, served as a strategic stronghold guarding the confluence of the Musa and Memele rivers.
The architectural design of the Old Castle is a stunning example of **Gothic style**.
